Faith’s Amazing Music Polls

A guest poll by Faith, with minimal commentary by Ernie.

Because you know I have to say something witty or engaging or thought-provoking to get you to the point where I say after the jump, otherwise the polls take up the whole front page.

But in all seriousness I want to personally, and on behalf of the other authors thank Faith for putting these polls together.  We all know the music is a big part of Chuck.  It sets the mood, heightens the impact, and is just plain cool.  Unfortunately I don’t know enough to organize it into categories and all the rest, so Faith kindly stepped up and was “that gal” for me.  Enjoy the polls and what I’m sure will be a great discussion, after the jump.

And for once you can’t blame me if your favorite is left off!

About Faith

Eternally faith-ful at least as it relates to my beloved Los Angeles Lakers. Yes that's where the username comes from. Other than that self-professed Chuckaholic, Laker blogger and part time internet addict. Ok, full time.

Faith provided links to a number of the songs. If you have a link to a free version feel free to post it, but be aware posts with lots of links often get hung up in the spam filter. I’ll try to keep on top of it.

  3. Faith says:

Aw shucks. It weren’t nothing 😉 lol.

BTW not to slant the votes or anything but do click on the link for Bears – it goes straight to a Chuck/Sarah fanvid. Loves it.

Great poll Faith! Love it! My Chuck playlist has grown to 72 songs (I have indulged and put a few I think should be used that haven’t).

      • Faith says:

Thanks. Yeah me too! Sometimes I purposely don’t pay attention to songs because on repeat they catch my ears and I get new tracks. I tend to loop songs anyway until I get sick of it so this way there’s always something new.

Faith – Thank you so much! This IS a resource.

  5. Chuck604 says:

Actually a song I think that would have been a good representation when Chuck and Sarah were apart IMHO is Sometime around midnight by Toxic Airborne Event. it’s not entire accurate but I think it kind of reflects what they both are feeling.

  6. sd says:

I know we’ve all talked about the lack of dialog/communication between the leads…and some of us have talked about the music doing the talking in many instances—Backwards Walk and Model Homes being perfect examples.

So–I was wondering if anyone has read or heard from the music guru at Chuck and whether that indeed is the case—that “clues” about the direction of the story/arc can be found in the music.

  7. Jen says:

Girl, thanks for this poll. I love the music in Chuck… in fact, it’s one of my favorite things, and i can always count on you to touch on it. I’m gonna have to re-listen to some of these before i can vote, but i can say for right now that Imogen Heap’s Wait it Out broke my heart into so many littel pieces that that is MOST DEFINITLEY my favorite break-up song. It’s a beautiful and sad song.

  8. BeCoolBoy says:

    Thanks for all the work.

Oddly, the only song that worked for me immediately this season and has lasted is Bears, the Sam Isaac song they played over the family scene at the end of Awesome. As you listened to the lyrics, especially “We’re not happy here,” you knew things were headed dark…

I’ve come to like Down River, but only because it was final confirmation that we were headed in the right direction.

Otherwise, I have to say that A Comet Appears (over the final Chuck-Sarah scene of the pilot) and Freeze and Explode (final scenes of Suburb) still rate at top of my best song-moment list. And I’d have to say A Comet Appears continue to do the best job being an aural representative of the show…
