Spoilers:

From Zap2It:

Fedak didn’t want to spoil much about Bakula’s return as Steven J. Bartowski, but he does promise big things in the season’s final three episodes. “The return of Steven J. is an epic thing for the show because if you think about last season, Steven spent all this time trying to get the Intersect out of Chuck’s head so he would be free and clear of the spy world. And Chuck this season made the decision that he wanted to be a spy. A lot of what we deal with in the final episodes are the ramifications of that. … It’s that classic father-son story of, You decided to pursue the thing I didn’t want you to.

“But we also have a lot of fun with it — it’s always good to have [Bakula] come back to the show. He’s such a kind of classic hero with ‘Enterprise’ and ‘Quantum Leap,’ and it’s neat to see him side-by-side with Chuck. And he also knows about Chuck’s spy life, so they can be heroes together.”

Undisclosed sources say that there are “Zombies” on the televisions screens at the Buy More in this episode.

        Episode 3.18/3.19

        Here’s the official synopsis

THE RING TARGETS CHUCK AND HIS TEAM — SCOTT BAKULA (”QUANTUM LEAP”) GUEST STARS — The Ring is closing in on Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Operation Bartowski. Fortunately, Chuck’s dad Steven (guest star Scott Bakula) is working hard to save his son. • Merve says:

There’s been a lot of talk about why Sarah Lancaster isn’t listed in the credits for 3.17 to 3.19, and most people seem to think that it’s an error. That may very well be the case, but I thought that it might be because Ellie’s status might be in question at the end of “Tooth.” TPTB might not want to make the same mistake that they made with Devon earlier in the season when they revealed that he was alive right after the end of “Angel de la Muerte.” So, they’re really keeping Ellie’s status under wraps. (But Ausiello kind of ruined that by telling us that Ellie and Awesome are both in the finale.) To add to this speculation, I think that the side mission that Chuck and Morgan conduct in “Tooth” might be Ellie-related. Maybe Chuck has a dream about Ellie.

Okay, after writing all of that I just realized how ridiculous it sounds. I don’t think that any of the above is going to happen; it’s just something to think about.

    • herder says:

Doesn’t it say Chuck vs the Living Dead at the top?

    • jason says:

yea – I think so herder – I wonder if ellie knows about the intersect here, otherwise, I wonder why she would have gone along on what amounts to a pretty dangerous mission, also, I wonder how chuck / morgan’s side mission relates to this, as it appears sarah is around, unless she follows them somewhow, if indeed this is from 3.17 – looks really good …. I think I am now logged on again … had a little log on problem earlier logged on as oldresorter … any of you ever hear of oldresorter …. my other log on name?????

  4. Aardvark7734 says:

Some actual stills from the season finale, some seen previously, some not:

    http://tinyurl.com/2b9ph97

There’s some information you can deduce from just reading the body language in these shots, so they could be considered mildly spoilery.

    • odysszeuss says:

      reading the body language

i’m, not good with that. what’s your guess???

      • Aardvark7734 says:

My guess is that Ellie’s now on the inside of spy world, not outside of it. Why?

Short answer: Sarah and Casey are in mission mode in front of Ellie. This would make no sense to Ellie unless she knows (or is about to find out) that they’re partners.

Here’s what I think is roughly happening in this scene:

Something bad has happened (Devon?), and Ellie and Chuck are both upset. Chuck’s standing with Ellie, acting as her liaison to the spy world, which is represented by Sarah and Casey, who are clearly in mission mode in this scene and working together.

Casey is trying to get information and help while Sarah listens and thinks through their options.

Chuck explains the reality of their situation to Ellie and I’m guessing she freaks out and stalks off to process it on her own, telling Chuck to leave her alone.

Casey and Sarah watch, unable to make things any better for Ellie.

Sarah gives Chuck some space while he deals with the frustration of alienating his sister at the time she most needs his support and the guilt of being part of the very spy life that is causing her strife.

Some of this is conjecture and probably not quite correct, but I bet it’s in the ballpark.

      • odysszeuss says:

OH! OK! This works for me.

This line of argument is very good:

Sarah and Casey are in mission mode in front of Ellie. This would make no sense to Ellie unless she knows (or is about to find out) that they’re partners.

Elli is obviously involved in the spy storie.

        This one i like, too:

Sarah gives Chuck some space while he deals with the frustration of alienating his sister at the time she most needs his support and the guilt of being part of the very spy life that is causing her strife.

I thought first he is anyhow angry about Sarah, but your explanation fits much better…

    • Crumby says:

I’m not liking the last pics! I thought like odysszeuss at first. Chuck’s upset with Sarah.

Anyway I think Ellie either learns about the truth or part of it in this scene or has already learned about it. There is obviously something happenning that Ellie doesn’t quite agree on and Chuck knows it.

There is somebody next to Casey in one pics. Morgan?

I wonder if the call is about Ellie. Because we know Casey will be personnally involved in that ep, with his daughter, and he seems a little upset and he’s the one with the phone. Maybe it’s about him, but Ellie’s upset by what she’s learned. Saying that the question is: where’s Awesome?

Last thought, if Chuck is indeed upset with Sarah, I think she will “sacrifice” their relationship for the time being and let him be upset, and be the ruthless spy, so that one of them thinks clearly. She will need to do that to protect him and the gang against themselves.

      • atcdave says:

I don’t think that shot has anything to do with Chuck and Sarah, its all about Ellie. Chuck and Sarah will be fine.

      • odysszeuss says:

        hi crumby, nos amis française…
Zac est sur l’Europe voyage. Il veut aussi venir après Rom en France. As-tu su cela???

Sarah “sacrificing” her relationship in order to protect Chuck is something she really would do. Even if it wouldn’t be temporarily. I thought about it, too. Referring JS/CF’s quote about the emotionally cliffhanger in 3×19, something about that the fans would be very angry if it could not be resolved in a 4th season…

Or perhaps Chuck complains about the spylife rob his father or his brother in law and said something like: without you (Sarah) and Casey tapping in my life three years ago, my dad will be still alive…
-and Sarah sacrificing herself is taken this burden for Chucks wellbeeing

…all will be resolved soon. for sure!!!

      • weaselone says:

I don’t know whether Chuck is upset with Sarah, but if he is it can’t be severe enough to lead to estrangement. They’re both propped against the back of the same automobile. A blow up would have led to a greater distance between them.

I’m leaning towards Aardvark’s interpretation. Chuck’s actively looking at something, his eye’s are fixed on something off in the distance. It could be Ellie, or he could be staring intently towards the horizon. Sarah is still close, although not touching. She’s there to offer support if needed and providing comfort by her presence, but giving him some space to work things out. Sarah’s eyes are fixed on Chuck. She’s worrying about him as he concerns himself with other thoughts.

      • odysszeuss says:

        ok ok …

        mine is likly unrealistic…

and in the inside i share your assesments

did anyone has an idea what they could have ment about the

JS/CF’s quote about the emotionally cliffhanger in 3×19, something about that the fans would be very angry if it could not be resolved in a 4th season…

      • Crumby says:

I wasn’t suggesting that they break up or anything, just that she’ll let him be upset, putting her own frustration aside, to help and protect him.

      • Crumby says:

@odysszeuss Yeah I’ve seen ZL is in Europe. I think he went in Madrid and Milan, and he’s in Rome now.

      • Aardvark7734 says:

Yes, Crumby, it’s Morgan standing next to Casey:

      • Crumby says:

        Thanks Aardvark7734. So everybody’s here except Awesome…

      • Anonymous says:

that’s not good looking for Awesome 😦

finally Awesome is again, well awesome, he’s again in trouble. that’s really bad luck…

to full gang together. that’s awesome, too.
        even except Awesome.

  5. gabbo says:

How could they possibly sell Chuck doing a “the spy life robbed me of my father and Awesome” and it’s all Casey and Sarah’s fault? That makes NO sense considering the season-long effort to convince us that Chuck always WANTED to be a spy…

Besides, and this is just a guess on my part, would NBC want ANY part of a cliffhanger that puts any distance between Chuck and Sarah? It would infuriate fans and really hurt the word of mouth for the show in season 4…

    • atcdave says:

I don’t believe they will end with any emotional distance between Chuck and Sarah. They may end with one or both in mortal peril. I think from here on out it is a spy couple story.

    • Crumby says:

Whatever happens it will be solve before the end. I read somewhere that everything will seem to have work out at 10 minutes or so from the end, and then BAM! something epically game changing will happen.

So I think the cliffhanger really could be anything. Probably even stuff we have never thought about.

But I agree, I don’t think it will be about CS relationship. They’ve seen the fan reaction about Season 3.0, and anyway whatever happens with the spy story it has an effect on CS. They made Chuck re-intersecting for example lead to the “Prague incident”…

      • jason says:

i think 3.19 will have an ending with a few minutes to go suitable to end the series on happily for most fans – then we will get something controversial, dark, sad, something that will lite up the boards for half the summer, I don’t know what, but something like sarah is pregnant although I sure hope that is not it, or someone gets shot, or someone dies, or someone appears in the background with a gun aimed, or …. who knows

I also think, that if the show had gotten canceled, that last scene was going to get cut, maybe replaced by a quick animal house like listing of what everyone did in the future. That is one of the two reasons fedak pushed for a quick answer – the other being he was losing his writing team left and right.

  6. Lola says:

    Guys,
There’s a message hidden in the 24seg of the promo. Watch it!
    best.

  7. BDaddyDL says:

I was going through the preview and in it i see Shaw put his arm around a women with blond hair, so Shaw has Sarah and is using her as a shield. This will be interesting
