Happy Birthday, Dave & Ernie
Actually, I’m the one in trouble here, because I missed Dave’s birthday earlier this month. [Boo – Boo! on Joe…]
So since this is anniversary week, we’re gonna note two today.
Dave and Ernie have survived yet another year.
And we’d like to personally thank you both for everything you’ve done for this blog and whether you realize it or not, for the show. You’ve made it better for all of us.

Happy Birthday, all! Mine is Dec. 24th. Used to suck when I was a kid because of the proximity to Christmas. Now sucks as an adult because I can NEVER got the day off for it – HAVE TO WORK.

Bummer about the December birthdays. Mine is actually 9/1, which used to be opening week for football (real NFL football, not the kiddie NCAA stuff); I have many fine memories of watching the Bears while enjoying my cake. Alas, schedules change.
Thanks for the link, Fr. Rick. I just saw that news myself via ChuckTV.net. Very cool. I’ve been wondering how the impinging (uh, yup. That’s the word) Comcast acquisition of NBC-U was going to affect things. If NBC is showcasing Chuck, it means that bigwigs there think it’s an asset.
To which we say “Duh!”
I’m starting to think that the lack of promotion this year was a calculation that the fan base (uh, us!) was going to carry the ball for them. Hey NBC! We did!
But boy, is that OT! Dave, my stepdaughter’s birthday is 9/1!

I just realized something, while this post notes Dave and Ernie’s birtdays (happy belated ones guys) there is another that should be noted. Wasn’t last week the first birtday for this site? Congratulations to Joe, Amy, Ernie and Dave for creating a most congenial site to dwell upon our favorite show. As I understand it this was created to be a comfortable place to talk about all things in the Chuckverse and it has suceeded and then some. Thank you for your efforts all of you.

I’m sure I can speak for the whole crew when I say thanks, and I am so happy we have found our niche as a place for open and comfortable discussion. I think the initial intent was just to be able to discuss as we saw fit without having to worry about heavy handed moderation. But yeah, the direct consequence of that was we wanted to avoid censorship and encourage a free exchange of thoughts. I am glad we’ve been mostly successful in creating a friendly and open community.
It is more than that. Not only does the board allow a free exchange of ideas, it also elevates the discussion.
A lot of the posters here are intelligent and well read folks. Most of the posts reflect that. You very rarely see “he is an idiot”, nope you see I think he is an idiot…. and 200 words later you understand that while you may not think someone on the show is an idiot, you at least know why someone would think that.
The internet is a great place for discussion, but thoughtful discussion is as rare as Shaw fanboy sights.
So happy birthday Chuck This, and I want to thank everyone here (especially Joe, Dave, Ernie, Amyabn) for making this the go to site for Chuck fans.
